Pricing

Pricing & Costs

How much do movers cost in San Diego?
Local moves in San Diego start at $120 per hour for a crew and truck. A one-bedroom apartment typically runs 3 to 4 hours, so most land between $360 and $480. A two-bedroom house usually takes 5 to 7 hours. If you have your own truck, labor-only help starts at $50 per hour per mover.

We quote a flat rate before we start, based on your inventory, your access, and how far you're going. The hourly figure is there to give you a realistic picture, not to run a meter against you.
How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment in San Diego?
Most one-bedroom apartment moves in San Diego cost between $360 and $480. That's 3 to 4 hours at $120 per hour with a crew and truck included. Ground-floor to ground-floor moves land at the lower end. Third-floor walk-ups with no elevator land at the higher end.

Long carries from the truck to the door and tight street parking are the two things that most often add time in San Diego, particularly in older neighborhoods like Ocean Beach and North Park.
Do you charge by the hour or a flat rate?
Both, and you'll know which before we start. We quote you a flat rate based on your inventory and access, and that quoted price is what you pay. The hourly figures we publish are how we build that quote, not a meter that keeps running on moving day.

This is the part most people have been burned by before. A low hourly rate means nothing if it doubles once stairs, wrapping, fuel, and travel time get added at the end.
Do you charge extra for stairs, long carries, or heavy items?
No. Stairs, long carries, and heavy furniture are priced into your quote up front, not added at the end. If you tell us you're on the third floor with no elevator, that's in the number we give you.

The only time a price changes is if the job itself changes, for example if there's significantly more to move than described, or an access problem nobody knew about. We tell you before we do the work, never after.
Is there a deposit to book a move?
Yes. We collect a $30 deposit to lock in your date and crew, and it comes off your final bill. Nothing else is charged until the work is done.

The deposit exists because we hold a crew and a truck for your slot. It's small on purpose. It is enough to confirm you're serious, and not enough to hurt if plans change.
Booking

Booking & Scheduling

Do you offer same-day or last-minute moves in San Diego?
Often, yes. We keep weekday slots open for same-day and next-day moves across San Diego County, and last-minute jobs are a normal part of our week. Call us at (858) 418-1393 and we'll tell you straight away whether we can crew it.

We would rather turn a job down than show up short-handed and half-equipped. If we say yes, the crew is real and the truck is booked.
How far in advance should I book?
One to two weeks ahead is ideal, though we regularly accommodate 48 hours notice. Weekdays and mid-month dates have the best availability and are usually the cheapest time to move.

May through September is peak season in San Diego, and the last weekend of any month is the busiest slot there is. If you're moving then, book earlier than you think you need to.
What is the cheapest time to move in San Diego?
Mid-week, mid-month, and outside of summer. A Tuesday or Wednesday in the middle of October will cost you less and get you a better crew slot than the last Saturday in July, when every mover in the county is booked solid.

Lease turnover drives this. Most leases end on the last day of the month, so the final weekend is always the most contested. Moving on the 12th instead of the 31st is the single easiest way to save money.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes. You can reschedule or cancel with no fee up to 48 hours before your move, and your $30 deposit carries over to the new date. Inside 48 hours, call us and we'll work it out.

If your inventory changes, call us. We'd much rather adjust the quote and send the right size crew than have two movers turn up to a four-mover job.
Moving Day

Moving Day & What's Included

How long does a move take?
A studio or one-bedroom apartment usually takes 3 to 4 hours. A two-bedroom is 5 to 7. A three-bedroom house is typically a full day at 7 to 9 hours. These assume reasonable access at both ends.

The things that add time are almost always access rather than volume: stairs without an elevator, long carries from the truck, narrow streets with no parking, and elevator buildings that require a reservation.
Do you disassemble and reassemble furniture?
Yes, and it's included free on every move. Bed frames, dining tables, desks, shelving, and mirrors that come off dressers. All hardware goes into labeled bags taped to the piece it came from, so nothing gets lost between two addresses.
Do you provide packing materials?
Yes. Full-service packing runs $75 per hour and includes boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, wardrobe boxes, and custom crating for artwork and mirrors. You can also buy materials from us and pack yourself.

Most people land in the middle: they pack their own clothes and books, and have us handle the kitchen, the artwork, and anything glass. That's usually the best value.
What We Move

What We Move (and Don't)

What items can you NOT move?
We can't transport hazardous materials, which means paint, gasoline, propane tanks, fireworks, ammunition, and cleaning chemicals. We also can't take perishable food or pets. Everything else, including pianos, safes, gun safes, and hot tubs, we handle.

Plan to move plants, important documents, jewelry, and medication in your own car. Not because we can't take them, but because you'll want them with you rather than in a truck.
Do you move pianos?
Yes, and we move them most weeks. Pricing starts at $280 and is quoted flat by piano type, with stairs included in the number. Uprights, baby grands, and concert grands are all handled with piano boards, proper rigging, and stair-climbing equipment.

A piano is not a heavy dresser. It's a strung instrument with a cast iron plate inside it, and it fails in expensive and specific ways when it's moved by people improvising.
Do you move pool tables?
Yes. Slate pool tables come apart, travel in pieces, and get re-leveled on site as part of the job. Pricing starts at $280 and is quoted flat by table size.

A slate table that isn't re-leveled at the new address is a table nobody plays on. Any mover who tells you they can carry one out intact is telling you they've never moved one.
Can I hire movers to load my POD or U-Haul?
Yes. POD and container loading starts at $380 for loading or unloading, and covers PODS, U-Haul, ABF, and similar containers. If you've rented your own truck instead, labor-only help starts at $50 per hour per mover.

Loading a container well is a genuine skill. Weight distribution and tight packing are what stop your furniture from shifting and breaking in transit, and it is the part most people underestimate.
Should I tip movers in San Diego?
Tipping is never expected, and always appreciated. If you want a rule of thumb, most people tip $20 to $40 per mover for a half-day job and $40 to $60 per mover for a full day, or around 10 to 15 percent of the total.

If a crew did something genuinely hard, a fourth-floor walk-up in August, a piano down a spiral staircase, they'll remember it. But nobody on our crew will ever make you feel awkward about it.
Coverage

Service Area & Who We Serve

What areas of San Diego do you serve?
We cover all of San Diego County, roughly 50 miles from our Point Loma base. That includes Point Loma, Ocean Beach, La Jolla, Downtown San Diego, Coronado, Chula Vista, National City, El Cajon, La Mesa, Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Escondido. See the full list of areas we serve.

We're a local company and we work locally. We do not currently offer long distance or out of state moves.
Do you work with military and PCS moves?
Yes. We're based in Point Loma, minutes from Naval Base Point Loma, and we handle self-procured PCS moves, off-base relocations, and moves in and out of Coronado and Liberty Station regularly.

If your move is being arranged through a DoD-contracted carrier, that goes through the military's own system rather than through us. If you're doing a personally procured move, or moving off base into civilian housing, that's exactly the kind of job we do.
¿Hablan español?
Sí. Somos una empresa familiar latina y todo nuestro equipo habla español e inglés. Puede llamarnos al (858) 418-1393, pedir su cotización y coordinar toda su mudanza en español, de principio a fin.

Yes. We're a Latino family business and our whole crew is bilingual. You can call, get your quote, and run your entire move in Spanish from start to finish, including the crew who shows up on the day.
